Frozen People, combining the icy Arctic with modern music and art, will be organized for the fourth time on March 1, 2025. This time, the event will take place in Pikisaari instead of Nallikari.
The Frozen People event organized by Oulu Urban Culture is an internationally known festival of electronic music and northern art. It will also be one of the European Capital of Culture year 2026’s main events in Oulu.
The festival has been organized previously on the ice of Nallikari, but next March the event will be organized in Pikisaari due to dredging in Nallikari Beach for the summer.
Frozen People will be organized in Pikisaari on March 1, and its After Hours after-party will be held in the Cultural Centre Valve as usual.
The music programme will highlight local and international talents. The line-up includes Sev Dah, Kas Kan, Virtual Humanity, Chimanda and Fubble, among others. The event will also include impressive installations, light art, participatory acts and performances. The full programme and timetable will be published shortly.
For the European Capital of Culture year 2026, Frozen People will return to Nallikari and will serve as a high point for the Brave Hinterland theme which highlights the Northern way of life.
